Fire
Fire mages are pretty basic, being able to create and manipulate fire in various ways, the most basic being fireballs. They can also breathe fire and various other ways of manipulating fire. Pretty much anything you think a fire mage can do that is within the boundaries of reason is fair grounds. The wielder of The Eye of the Volcano is capable of tapping into the streams of magma that flow beneath the surface.
Water
Water mages are are also pretty basic, being able to not create, but manipulate water in most forms. They have a bit of a handicap, because they can only manipulate water, and only water, from within a maximum of a mile. Pretty much anything involving water, they can do, depending on their power level. The wielder of The Heart of the Ocean is capable of bending the entire ocean to his/her command.
Storm
Storm mages can manipulate electricity and lightning, the least powerful being able to build a static charge in stuff, and the most powerful able to create an entire tempest. The most common power is to shoot lightning bolts from their hands. The wielder of The Light of the Storm is capable of opening the sky's themselves and pouring down lightning.
Earth
Earth mages here aren't those wimpy-ass fuckers who only manipulate plants. That's reserved for the lowest level. The most common power is creating tremors and earthquakes, and the highest level mages can open fissures in the earth. Earth mages are usually in the Majestic. The wielder of the Strength of the World can move mountains.
Gravity
Hopefully the name is self-explanatory, but if it isn't, then may God have mercy on your soul. Gravity mages have the ability to manipulate gravity (big surprise), and can make themselves lighter or others heavier. The most common power is force blasts. The wielder of The Weight of the Trials is capable of flattening entire cities.
Wind
Wind mages can control winds (big surprise) and the most common power is creating tornadoes. The most powerful wing mages can make hurricanes and F5 tornadoes. Wind mages are mainly members of the Eternal Dragon. The wielder of The Edge of the Gale is capable of creating a tornado that will literally slice a man into ribbons.
Light
Light mages can create and manipulate holy light, and use it to exorcise demons and defeat demons and monsters, as well as cure injuries and heal sickness.. Light magic is very powerful, and is usually used by members of the Templars. The wielder of The Bringer of the Dawn is capable of defeating even Tiamat herself.
Darkness
Darkness mages can control shadows and darkness, and the more powerful ones can Shadow Jump, where they step into a shadow, and come out of another one. The most powerful ones can forcibly change from day to night and back again. The wielder of the Master of the Night is capable of suffocating his enemies in darkness.
